This is one of those drinks that rewards you if you’ve developed a full appreciation for rum and tiki-style drinks. Everyone has their own Zombie concoction, and the recipe listed above is one of the more popular versions.
Me personally, I would typically just grab every version of rum imaginable, pour a bunch of pineapple juice and orange juice, then top it off with a dash of sour apple schnapps, dark rum, and 151.
This is, of course, served over ice.
Also, this drink has all the potential to fuck you up…but it’s a fun drink. Garnish it to your heart’s desire…a nice pineapple garnish goes well on this one…cherries don’t hurt.
As for presentation, you can pour all the light rum in first, then the 151, then the dark rum, then for a little bit of extra flair, lightly pour some grenadine along the side of the glass and let it sink to the bottom.
